dc.description.abstract An alternative concrete material is needed in conjunction with the concern of environment and economical concrete material. Reducing the content of cement in concrete material and substituting a part of cement content in concrete will indirectly reduce the air pollution due to the process of cement production. In this study, cold lava aggregate (Malang aggregate) is used as a filler material that has the characteristic partly like cement to substitute a part of cement content in concrete. The substitution of cement is varied as 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. The purpose of study is to investigate the effects of cold lava aggregate on the compressive strength in the age of 1-28 days. As the comparison, the normal concrete without the content of cold lava aggregate is prepared. The results indicated that the concrete with 10% cold lava aggregate has the compressive strength close to normal concrete. en_US
