The production of Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) deals with stabilization of strength using quartz
powder as one of the constituent components of RPC and high temperature of curing condition. In
literature, the RPC with content of quartz powder to cement ratio of 30% and steam curing condition of
250ºC in an autoclave resulted a compressive strength of 180 MPa and quite high tensile strength. Since
the quartz powder and high temperature tend to increase the production cost, this study proposes
considering the recycled glass powder as a substitute material and a lower temperature of curing condition
to achieve reasonable mechanical properties of RPC in compressive strength, flexural strength and split
tensile strength. The aim of this study is to find out the effect of different glass powder content in the
mechanical properties of RPC. The RPC with the glass powder content of 10%, 20%, and 30% of cement
mass, and the steam curing condition with maximum temperature of 95ºC were conducted by the tests of
compressive, flexural and split tensile strengths. The test results showed that the recycled glass powder
caused the reasonable mechanical properties of RPC, in other words it can be a substitute material of
quartz powder in RPC. In this study, the compressive strength with maximum value of 136 MPa was
attained from the RPC with the glass powder content of 20%. |
